For most active kitchens, floor tiles should get a proper scrub at least once a week, especially near the cooking area where oil and food droplets land. The rest of the week, normal mopping is usually fine. If you cook a lot of oily or spicy food, you might find that a quick mid-week scrub in the high-use zones keeps things under control.
Wall tiles behind the stove and sink need regular attention too. Wiping them down lightly after cooking keeps grease from building up. But a deeper scrub with a suitable cleaner once every 2–3 weeks helps prevent sticky layers that become very hard to remove later.
Grout lines are a giveaway. When they start turning darker, that’s a sign they need extra care. A small brush and mild cleaner used regularly is better than waiting months and then fighting stubborn stains. The idea is simple: a little frequent scrubbing is easy; big rare scrubs are exhausting.
