A realistic target for most households is to deep clean bathrooms once a month, while doing lighter cleaning several times a week. Daily or every-two-day cleaning can cover quick tasks: wiping the basin, rinsing the floor, using a toilet brush, and making sure there’s no obvious mess.
Deep cleaning is different. That’s when you scrub tiles and grout properly, clean behind and around the toilet, descale taps and shower heads, wash the exhaust fan cover, and tackle any mould or soap scum build-up. If your area has hard water, you might even need deep cleaning a bit more often, especially around taps and glass partitions.
Families with more people or young kids usually see bathrooms getting dirty faster, so they might lean towards every 2–3 weeks instead of a full month. The main sign you’ve waited too long is when normal cleaning no longer works and everything looks dull even after effort. A regular deep-clean schedule stops that from happening and keeps the bathroom hygienic without feeling like a huge job each time.
